Tanned and weather beaten, Billy spent a good deal of time on the seas. His scars and skin have already paid the price, despite his young age. Standing at just under 6 foot tall, he keeps his dirty blonde hair cut short and his amber eyes sharp.
Notable personality traits or skills:
A sailor and fighter throughout most of his youth, lover and gambler of late. He has scars from all of the above. A bit fatalist and a bears a strong hatred for the Stormwall people, particularly the nobility, holding them accountable for all that was taken from him.
Where is your character coming from? (write a short paragraph about your character’s background before jail):
William "Billy" Voss was born to a lady of the night in the city of Meeran in Kallvort, though he did not stay long, being sold at a young age to serve among the many crews due to his agile and daring nature. Billy soon called Castor's Smile home and began his carreer in earnest. He sailed for many a Captain but his true loyalty came to lie with the tavern girl, Madelina Ann Agostini, a young woman from Kanton. Billy called her "Mayne" as his first encounter with her was through a drunken stupor, his words repeated her name blurred together, a transgression she never let him forget.
How did your character find themselves in jail awaiting trial? (Please write a few short paragraphs describing what poor luck brought your character to this point in their life):
Billy found himself serving for sometime aboard the "Maiden's Kiss" a Kallvort Privateer vessel, captained by the Infamous Captain Vavea. Over the course of the year 1905, many Stonewall prizes were taken and Billy's small fortune began to add up. He had plans to return to Castor's Smile and wed his beloved Mayne, but fate had other plans. Upon his return and release from the "Maiden's Kiss", Billy sought his lady love. What he found was a letter left for him at the Black Dog Tavern. The letter contained a farewell from his lady Mayne, she had found comfort in the arms of a Stonewall man of a noble house. This Lord Vaelmont agreed to take Mayne away from the toil and filth of Castor's Smile and give her the life she deserved...something Billy could never do.
Heart sick and broken, the following years found Billy with no drive and no purpose, he gambled and drank away his meager holdings. Fighting and carousing with little care for the impact on his life or the lives of others. So it came to pass that a night where his rum tainted tears were hidden in a dark rain, a ship of Stonewall made port and down the plank a pompous Captain strode, commanding his men to seek provision and make ready before morning. "Aye, aye, Captain Vaelmont..." those words were the last conscious thought Billy can recall from the stormy night.
As he awoke, beaten and battered, chained like a dog in a simple cell. The guards retold him of how he was found, the Stonewall Captain having been ripped apart seemingly by Billy's bare hands. Several of the crew had tried to save their Captain and paid the Ocean's due for it. All told seventeen men had perished at Billy's hands. The guard arrived just as exhaustion took him, the remaining crew afraid to come near the possessed creature on their deck. Billy only sobbed as his awareness returned, not for the lives he had taken but for the sobering memory of what they had taken from him...
