Physical description of your character:
Old tall and lean. Back bent from age and the weight of time. Weathered face. Wild grey hair, thick and tangled like bramble roots, and a thick wiry beard frame his hooked nose. His eyes, deep-set beneath heavy brows, are a color that defy certainty-- sometimes blue as a winter sky, stormy gray, or black as the depths of a Wyreland bog. Tattered wool robes of a dirty old hermit. Something restless about him as if he existed just slightly out of step with time itself. His hands calloused and ink stained. Emrys smells of damp earth, old parchment, and woodsmoke.

Where is your character coming from? (write a short paragraph about your character’s background before jail):
Emrys is a Wyrelander. Born in Qual in 1835 he enjoys a simple life, simple comforts, and speaks in riddles. An elderly scholar, alchemist, occultist, and philosopher. Emrys has been an ornamental hermit on the estate of a wealthy landowner in Erons for the last three decades (1880's-current). More of a poet, storyteller, and philosopher now in his old age. Born right as the 12 year war began he tells the tales of "The Cataclysm" and "The Maelstrom", and the "Time of Unity" before this new "Age of Advancement". "The Cataclysm" is what motivated his studies of all the natural sciences. Even now in 1910 he is still haunted with the same reoccurring nightmare of the deep sonic *BOOM* that shook the known world and initiated his quest for answers.
How did your character find themselves in jail awaiting trial? (Please write a few short paragraphs describing what poor luck brought your character to this point in their life):
Emrys' wealthy landowner recently died. Without an heir to inherit, the property was swiftly auctioned off and the new even richer owner moved in. However, Emrys in the ego and stubbornness of old age refused to vacate the garden hermitage. After 30 years he expected to die there. The new owner far more modern and industrialized than the last quickly disposed of him as nothing more than a novelty of an era better left forgotten. Unnecessary expenses. Out of fashion now in the new world. Therefore, Emrys now finds himself in chains a result of his "illegal squatting". An ornamental relic of a time past awaiting his story's end.
