Character name: Franziska Wulf.
Character age: 29.
Physical description of your character: Franziska Wulf's visage stands out among the commonfolk of her people, her uncharacteristic moonlight-white hair a sharp contrast to her charcoal eyebrows. Spare for the hair tone typical of the Wulf lineage, she is fairly unremarkable in appearance. Her countenance is stony as if in parallel with her island home, and her figure is oft similarly rigid. At a glance, her physical strength seems to be about fairly average. It is clear she has not known war as her predecessors knew it.
---------------------------------------------------
Notable personality traits or skills: Wulf is a woman of science and progress, hell-bent on the next discovery to provide her nation a tactical advantage. She pays little mind to ethics, leaving such topics for philosophers to agonize over. Instead, she prides herself on her personal maxim: The ends justify the means, always.
Her skills lay primarily within the sciences, and she has taken a particular interest in engineering in recent years. As is customary of a family of Warsend, she has been trained in the martial arts of her people and has working knowledge of swordsmanship. If properly armed, it is likely she could defend herself against the average assailant. However, her heart lays in her own work most of all.
She would prefer to be an enabler of war heroes, rather than bloody others herself.

Where is your character coming from? (write a short paragraph about your character’s background before jail):
Franziska hails from a long line of honored warriors: The Wulf lineage. The Wulfs are a family of good repute, occupying a home of comforts unafforded to the peasantry. Of course, such rewards were hard-fought for, and were determined in the crucible of the battlefield.
Franziska herself has done no such thing, admittedly reaping the rewards of her forebears. However, she has pledged her service solely to that of Stonewall and its Lords, despite her uncharacteristic tendencies of a child of Warsend. She wishes to increase Stonewall's power by utilizing her natural inclination toward the sciences to produce more efficient weapons of war and defense. As such, she primarily occupies herself with progress on technological advancement. Her work is supported by the Wulf house and other benefactors, in hopes that her contributions might increase their family's prestige.
How did your character find themselves in jail awaiting trial? (Please write a few short paragraphs describing what poor luck brought your character to this point in their life):
Blast it.
She cursed herself, an elbow slamming upon the creaky desk. Her papers scattered fearfully, drifting downward and absorbing the moisture of the dank room. Barely a glance spared to the lost notes, her right palm clawed at the skin of her forehead as the weight of her predicament threatened to crush her.
Clink. Clink.
Metal tapped against metal from the furthest wall. At first it was weak, almost gentle. The more she waited, the more forceful it became. She scowled, raising herself from the desk and stared into the darkened corner from which the sound came. It seemed he had woken.
"You damned fool. They were content to look away, content to allow me my work so long as it benefitted them!" She rubbed her forehead in frustration, her jaw clenched in restraint. "You-" She hissed. "I never intended to bring you in. The God's Eye presented an opportunity, and I seized it. They would have wasted away in that slum. Better I give them the chance to serve Stonewall some use."
The shackles rattled in discontent.
"You've ruined me, my project, everything. If you hadn't been frolicking among the rot, this might have been avoided. Now that a son of Warsend has gone miss-"
Her rant was interrupted mid-sentence by the clattering of boots upon stone, and her eyes widened in horror.
-----------
TL;DR
Franziska had been making use of those wasting away in the God's Eye for some time, believing that in her experimentations they might perform more good for the whole, rather than perishing of disease. Of course, this would probably violate most any concept of human rights. She's not a good person, but she is coldly utilitarian.
Ultimately, she picked up the wrong person from God's Eye one day. A son of a reputable family of Warsend found himself caught up in one of her excursions into the Eye, suffering inhumane treatment while Franziska was unaware of his identity. He was reported missing, and she was ultimately (and rightfully) imprisoned.
