Character name: Kiernan
Character age: 22
Physical description of your character: Kiernan is average height with an athletic build. His hair is thick and wild. The right side of his head is shaved and a single braid of hair hangs about to his jawline. The young man’s skin is ghostly pale and dusted with freckles along the bridge of his nose. With blue eyes that stand in beautiful contrast to his red hair, some might find him attractive.
Notable personality traits or skills: Kiernan overall is a pleasant young man. Has manners, treats everyone kindly. Recently though a small part of his psyche broke when he murdered his first person, followed by several more, and he is still wrapping his head around what happened and coming to terms with what he did. He is a fair hunter, and enjoys solitude of the woods.
Where is your character coming from? (write a short paragraph about your character’s background before jail): Kiernan has lived in Graedon his whole life. Due to his family being from Myrefall, his appearance stood out amongst the other kids he grew up with but most of them didn’t mind. While his parents worked; father at the camps and mother in the meal kitchen, Kiernan fell in love with the forest and would spend all the time he could exploring its wonders. Rather than frightened by the folk tales of man-eating forest beasts, Kiernan was intrigued and searched high and low as a child. When he became old enough to start working he joined his father at one of the camps, but his feet always found a way to take him back to the wilds.
How did your character find themselves in jail awaiting trial? (Please write a few short paragraphs describing what poor luck brought your character to this point in their life): Kiernan was sheltered from the financial struggles of living and working at the lumber camps until his late teens where he learned first hand how bad it was. His father and mother just wanted a simple life away from Myrefall, it was why they moved to Graedon when his mother was pregnant with Kiernan. Now facing these hardships himself, and realizing what his parents went through for him, Kiernan had ambitions and began to look for ways to give his parents a better life.
It wasn’t long before Kiernan bit off more than he could chew, and began owing people money and favors. Money and favors quickly turned into what amounted to people owning Kiernan through blackmail. By the time Kiernan turned 21 he had been in service of less than reputable individuals for five years. As things spiraled, Kiernan became hardened over time, innocence replaced by numb disconnect. The people Kiernan was indebted to crossed a line, and took it a step further, something Kiernan couldn’t stand. They had not kept their promises to look after his parents, and Kiernan’s mother died at their hands.
Revenge followed, and bodies continued to drop day after day for a week. These men had used Kiernan for illegal hunting among other illegal things, and he had gotten quite good at hunting and killing. Kiernan was eventually caught before he could finish his revenge mission and was sent to prison, having confessed.
