Due to the adult nature of this server, players must be 18 years of age to play and we expect characters to be no younger than 18 years of age. Players are allowed one account with upwards of three characters. Any players caught breaking this rule will have both accounts banned from the server.
Metagaming is strictly prohibited. Any information not obtained through in character means should not be used to impact your roleplay or be used as ig knowledge. This includes stories or posts made in public forums unless these posts are made as “public notices” or other such public knowledge it is best to assume that these posts are for character building and entertainment.
Your characters are their own individual and unique people and because they are played by you and therefore cannot exist in the same space at the same time it is against our rules for players to share resources between their characters. Your characters can have knowledge of each other through the conversations of others, but cannot have met or interacted.
We are a role play enforced server and expect all our players to have read enough of the lore and fiction to play a character that will fit into this world. Out of character conversations should not be had in game outside of party chat. If you have to leave for a brief moment a quick [afk] or other such bracketed message is acceptable in game, but extensive out of character conversation should be taken to Discord.
PVP is allowed but must come with role play reasoning that has been established. For example, an argument between opposing syndicate members may turn ugly and come to blows, or a drunken evening in a bar might turn sour and someone gets stabbed. It is not however acceptable to attack another player without roleplay reasoning, griefing will not be tolerated. PVP also should -not- be coordinated in party chats or other ooc means, meaning you cannot use party chat or ooc chat to call your buddies in to back you up if you’re getting your ass kicked.
Conflict driven plotlines are allowed and encouraged, but understand that your roleplay decisions could end in your character being kidnapped, tortured or even killed. It is however common courtesy to discuss with the other player what they are comfortable roleplaying out in specific detail. Please be respectful of other people’s boundaries but know that not wanting to roleplay out a torture scene (for example) in detail doesn’t mean your character is exempt from this consequence. In these situations it is acceptable to speak with the other player ooc and agree on what happened between the characters and utilize the “fade to black” roleplay method.
Be prepared to cash the checks your roleplay writes. There are consequences to your actions in this world and you should be prepared for them. For example, if you want to plot and stage a bank robbery, staff will be happy to assist you, but don’t be upset if the owner of the bank tries to hunt you down later. There won’t be any hand holding, and remember, play stupid games win stupid prizes.
If your character is killed, that is it for that character. You cannot transfer goods from your dead character to your next or to existing characters. We do respect the amount of time it takes to build a character and will allow new characters created after the death of a previous character to be created with slightly higher skill points than a base character upon creation. Amount of points to be determined by a dice roll.
Sexual or explicit roleplay is not prohibited from this server, but we do expect players to have a degree of decorum when choosing locations for such trysts. For example, the hot springs, an island found on a boating trip or your private residence may be a good choice while the middle of the craft hall is less than ideal. On this topic, we would prefer not to see conflict roleplay storylines based purely off of sexual misconduct or rape. It isn’t because we’re prudes, it’s because this type of conflict has been beaten to death and we know you can be more creative.
AFK macroing, just don’t do it. We’re a roleplaying server and we hope that people are logging in to get some roleplay in while building skills. That isn’t to say that attended macroing isn’t acceptable, we just don’t need lifeless characters staring despondently into the void around the map
